Laurie lived in Penge in MacKenzie Road through the 1960s and Kent House Road from the 1970s until his death in 2018. His job as a Police Constable brought him to Penge Police Station. He was a keen
allotment gardener, wood-carver and amateur artist - his art teachers included Marion Archer and Anna Lovely.
